About Us

Where it all began

It started with three marketing students tasked with creating a new and unique product that would eventually be sold to the public.

Head Melts was founded when all team members discovered that they never truly felt at ease in some evenings when it came to relaxing and unwinding. We wanted to create a product that had a twist to it.

Having conducted extensive market research into popular modern-day products and excelling markets, conclusions were drawn that health products have shown a steady increase in popularity. This is where our team saw a gap in the market.

What is Head Melts and why the name?

Head Melts is a company that stocks hand-crafted wax melts, which are also in the shape of brains. The purpose of this shape is to signify when the wax melt is burning, it represents the melting of one's negative thoughts. This idea ties in with the Irish colloquialism “My heads melting”, which is why our brand name is Head Melts. The product will also contain a wax burner for consumers to use the melts with and a total of 6 wax melts.

As a team of three, we found it necessary to incorporate elements from each team member when it went into creating our product. One team member found it difficult to unwind and relax after a stressful day at work and found herself desiring a certain mood that she found difficult to achieve. For example, when coming home from work, she would see herself under a lot of stress, making it difficult for her to stay calm and be at one with herself. In the case of our team member, in order for her to feel calm as well as helping to reduce her stress, the combination scents lavender and vetiver would help her achieve the emotion of calmness. The team concluded that combination scents would be utilised within the wax melts. When the consumer wishes to purchase the wax melts, these two scents will be pre-combined, meaning they will be ready for use which adds to the convenience for the consumer.

The Importance of Mental Health.

The team recognised that mental health is more important now than ever as the world is slowly but surely beginning to get back to reality since enduring the global pandemic, which began in 2019. Our team valued the importance of mental health, so with each product sold, 10% of proceeds go towards the mental health charity Pieta house.
